A INTELIGÊNCIA ARTIFICIAL (IA) NOS CURSOS A DISTÂNCIA: VANTAGENS, DESVANTAGENS E DESAFIOS

Resumo

Este artigo analisa a inserção da Inteligência Artificial (IA) na Educação a Distância (EaD), com foco em suas principais vantagens, desvantagens e desafios. A pesquisa, de caráter qualitativo e bibliográfico, fundamenta-se em autores contemporâneos da área da tecnologia educacional, explorando a forma como a IA está transformando as práticas pedagógicas, administrativas e formativas nos ambientes virtuais de aprendizagem. Entre os principais benefícios identificados estão a personalização do ensino, o acompanhamento em tempo real do desempenho discente, a automação de tarefas burocráticas e o fortalecimento da autonomia dos alunos. Também se destaca o potencial da IA para gerar dados educacionais estratégicos e apoiar a gestão acadêmica. Contudo, o uso da IA suscita desafios éticos, pedagógicos e estruturais, como a desumanização do ensino, a exclusão digital, a fragilidade na proteção de dados e a necessidade de formação técnica e continuada dos professores. A análise demonstra que, embora a IA represente um avanço expressivo para a inovação educacional, sua implementação deve ser pauta da por princípios de equidade, acessibilidade e ética. O estudo conclui que o sucesso da IA na EaD depende diretamente de políticas públicas eficazes, investimentos em infraestrutura digital e da articulação entre os diversos atores educacionais. Assim, a tecnologia deve ser compreendida não apenas como ferramenta, mas como elemento transformador da cultura educacional contemporânea.

Abstract: This article analyzes the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Distance Education (DE), focusing on its main advantages, disadvantages, and challenges. The research, qualitative and bibliographic in nature, is based on contemporary authors in the field of educational technology, exploring how AI is transforming pedagogical, administrative, and formative practices in virtual learning environments. Among the main benefits identified are the personalization of teaching, real-time monitoring of student performance, automation of bureaucratic tasks, and the strengthening of student autonomy. The potential of AI to generate strategic educational data and support academic management is also highlighted. However, the use of AI raises ethical, pedagogical, and structural challenges, such as the dehumanization of teaching, digital exclusion, weak data protection, and the need for ongoing technical teacher training. The analysis shows that although AI represents a significant advancement in educationalinnovation, its implementation must be guided by principles of equity, accessibility, and ethics. The study concludes that the success of AI in DE depends directly on effective public policies, investment in digital infrastructure, and collaboration among the various educational stakeholders. Thus, technology should be understood not merely as a tool, but as a transformative element of contemporary educational culture.
