AS PALAVRAS COMO INSTRUMENTO DE PODER: O RACISMO LINGUÍSTICO EM MEIO ÀS PAUTAS DO DESENVOLVIMENTO E DA RESPONSABILIDADE SOCIAL NAS ORGANIZAÇÕES

Resumo

O tema abordado neste artigo é como expressões de significado racista são instrumentos de poder aplicáveis à análise das pautas do desenvolvimento e da responsabilidade social nas organizações. A fundamentação teórica inicia-se pelo fato de que o crescimento econômico por si só não é suficiente para explicar questões sociais no desenvolvimento econômico e que o sentido da garantia do desenvolvimento social equânime e justo deve considerar as desigualdades sociais, em especial, nas ex-colônias pautadas pelo racismo implementado pelas ex-etrópoles. Contudo, a ligação entre desenvolvimento e racismo é crítica e muitas vezes negligenciada, ainda que o primeiro molde o sistema social, cabendo ao papel da língua do colonizador como instrumento para perpetuar o racismo e influenciar posições de autoridade quando operada em função dos interesses da branquitude. O estudo enfatiza medidas para a reformulação da linguagem por meio de ressignificação ou erradicação de determinadas expressões linguísticas que caracterizam por um lado o racismo linguístico e por outro reforçam o epistemicídio dos negros, chegando a afetar o discurso corrente sobre desenvolvimento ignorando contribuições da população negra nesse processo. A metodologia utilizada é a revisão bibliográfica com foco no uso da língua portuguesa no Brasil, analisando-se como indicador o racismo linguístico, o que caracteriza o epistemicídio aplicado aos negros em expressões correntes de cunho racista. Os resultados alcançados na pesquisa comprovam que o racismo linguístico reforça os privilégios da branquitude e a violência contra a população negra, excluindo-se as contribuições negras para o desenvolvimento econômico-social no Brasil.

Abstract: The topic addressed in this article is how expressions of racist meaning are instruments of power applicable to the analysis of development and social responsibility agendas in organizations. The theoretical foundation begins with the fact that economic growth alone is not enough to explain social issues in economic development and that the sense of guaranteeing equitable and fair social development must take into account social inequalities, especially in former colonies based on racism implemented by former metropolises. However, the link between development and racism is critical and often overlooked, even though the former shapes the social system, with the colonizer’s language playing a role as an instrument for perpetuating racism and influencing positions of authority when operated in the interests of whiteness. The study emphasizes measures to reformulate language by re-signifying or eradicating certain linguistic expressions that, on the one hand, characterize linguistic racism and, on the other, reinforce the epistemicide of black people, even affecting the current discourse on development by ignoring the contributions of the black population in this process. The methodology used is a literature review focusing on the use of the Portuguese language in Brazil, analyzing linguistic racism as an indicator, which characterizes the epistemicide applied to black people in current expressions of a racist nature. The results of the research were that linguistic racism reinforces the privileges of whiteness and violence against the black population, excluding black contributions to economic and social development in Brazil.
